New to internet radio...

I'm using Screamer Radio right now. But I have an XP Home system, a SB Audigy card, and an Eastern DA-AV5 Dolby Digital 5.1 channel speaker system hooked to it.

I'm really wanting to get the best software that will give me the music in 5.1. I have the Orbis AAC Plus bundle installed.

Is there another avenue I can pursue to get better sound? Would WinAmp be better? What do you recommend?

And thanks to Delicious Agony and what they do! :D

I use WinAmp with its built-in aacPlus decoder. But don't expect audiophile-quality sound. Most of the MP3s we stream are ripped at 128k-192k, and the stream itself is compressed to 80k. Also, we do a little compression in order to make all the songs about the same volume.

My recommendation: listen to the MUSIC, not necessarily to the AUDIO.

Thanks for the reply. I've got WinAmp installed. Sounds very nice.

I never thought I would get audio this clean and this nice without buying some software package. I really am pleased.

Thanks! :D
