MSK's Prog Celebration of Dave Brubeck's 90s!

Postby ProgressiveAttic » Tue Nov 30, 2010 4:05 pm

Michael's Sonic Kaleidoscope's next edition is celebrating the 90th birthday of one of the most influential musicians in the development of progressive rock, jazz and music in general of the 20th and 21st centuries: Dave Brubeck.

Brubeck is an american jazz pianist known as the composer of many jazz standards and as an innovator in improvisation, blending classical sensitivities in jazz music, employing unusual time signatures and superimposing contrasting rhythms, meters, and tonalities... All of them, characteristic elements of progressive rock.

Join me next week (Monday 6th of December w/ re-run on Thursday 9th) in this tribute and celebration to the music of this legendary figure, emphasizing its influence in Progressive Rock.
