durga2112 asking meaning of name Kai,is tricky one:I had to make some research. There are different explains. One consider that Kai is derived from ancient Roman name Caius(or Gaius) but meaning is unknown. But then in ancient Scandinavian languages(old Norwegian,Swedish,Danish) name Kai meant `bright` or `lively;plucky`.Among other things there is old runestone writing from 1100-century in Eskilstuna,Sweden telling:ORMAR AND VIFRID AND HOLMFRID AND KAI AND TOLV AND SKRIMME,THESE TRUE MEN SET THIS STONE FOR MEMORY OF TOLV.So I think Kai is good old Viking name.(plus in Hawaiian Kai means `the sea`.)

Wow, thanks for doing that research - I didn't mean to cause all that work for you when I asked the question. :P

"Bright" and "lively; plucky" definitely describe our son quite well (he's 11 months old). My wife came up with the name Kei - it supposedly means "king" in some language, but we have been unable to find which one. But knowing that a similar name exists in other languages helps. :)

Hey Josh, how's it goin' man? Glad to see you (and the other DT.netters) here. Seems like we have a lot of Canadians here as well - that's always cool. :)

And nice introduction of sarcasm green to the DA forum. ;)
