8 Tear Before The Rain

Best way to review this album is to put it all into one sentance: Go Get This Album! Jordan Rudess has done a remarkable job once again. This album is by far a masterpiece. While there is a lot of the typical keyboard shredding, it is still exciting to listen to. And a veritable who's who in artists joining him make this album. Names? Well, there's Joe Satriani, Rod Morgenstein, David LaRue, Steve Morse, Greg Howe, and many others.

This album has amazing feel to it from start to finish. At times, you are even reminded of Dream Theater. For instance, one of the keyboard sounds that Jordan uses on the next to last track, Ra, is the same sound that you hear on Scene From A Memory's Home. There is also singing on two tracks of this album. Vocals are done by none other than Kip Winger. Now here is a guy who has had to just about start from scratch to rebuild his career. His vocals are a welcome addition to this album. There is so much feeling and emotion to his singing. Jordan says it accurately when he says that Kip is an amazing talent.

If you have been debating whether or not to get this album, let me help it now. You won't be dissappointed!
