i just recently bought a copy of Tubular Bells. its really good and i'm enjoying it(well, exept for the annoying grunting on side two).

what're your opinions of tubular bells and mike oldfield in general? whats his other stuff like?

tubular bells is creepy, especialy when it is played in the exorcist (sp)

Mike Oldfield..

Some of his later stuff is a bit on the dubious side, except maybe 'The songs of distant earth'.
All of his material 73-82 is WELL worth checking out. I firmly believe his two best albums are 'Hergest ridge' ('74) and 'Incantations' ('79). but, 'Ommadawn', 'Platinum' and 'Five miles out' (if only for the wonderful 25 min'Taurus II') are all very good albums.

Check them out...great stuff!!
