SFAM is the best IMO, but is closely followed by Images and Words.

hummm...

Dreamtheater....

I love 'Six degrees ..' and 'Scenes..' their CDs before 'Scenes..' are all good too, especially 'Images and words'.

BUT

Their recent 'Train of puppets'..sorry thought was such a wrong turn FOR ME ANYWAY, I know many love it, but I just think this incredibly talented band are capable of WAY better than drivel such as 'My dying soul' with its meaningless thousand mile an hour solos and 'Blackened' rip off section. Such a waste. I am optimistic for the next effort, however, after a great show last monday night...plenty of balance.

you might as well get the title of "This Dying Soul" correct. and the album pays a lot of TRIBUTE to Metallica, it's not a rip off.

Train of Thought didn't do very much for me, either, but I'm confident that the album they release next year will be something different and fresh.

I love ToT, probably my number 2 album from them...Well tied with 6DOIT . Stream of Consciousness is one of my favorite songs ever. I listen to it before every race I run to get my psyched up hah. At 8:30 the night before, it's SFaM, then throughout race day, it's ToT with SoC right before.

ok I'm odd. Sue me.

Well, gotta say Train of Thought is the only one I'm wearing out right now. Awesome! Partly due to the fact I watch Mike's Drums of Thought DVD all the time. The man just floors me. I'll never get to his level. Course, I didn't attend MIT or Berklee either.

On first listen, ToT did sound more like "Hey! Listen to us solo!" than "Hey! Listen to the great new songs we've come up with!" After a few more revolutions in the car stereo, though, I realized it was a perfect album. But I voted for Scenes....

Damn! That's a hard poll... 'Scenes from a Memory' wins though...
