Your favourite albums by letter

Postby durga2112 » Fri Aug 27, 2004 10:02 am

The nice thing about being on a new message board is that you can rip off threads that you started on other boards and pass them off as something new. ;)

This thread idea is pretty simple: just list your favourite album for each letter of the alphabet. Be careful, though - some of them can be really tricky depending on what you have in your collection. :P

Awake (DT)
Brave (Marillion)
Clutching at Straws (Marillion)
Dead Air for Radios (Chroma Key)
Exit Stage Left (Rush)
Falling Into Infinity (DT)
Guitar Town (Steve Earle)
Home (Dixie Chicks)
III Sides to Every Story (Extreme)
The Joshua Tree (U2)
King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime (Faith No More)
Load (Metallica)
Misplaced Childhood (Marillion)
No More Tears (Ozzy Osbourne)
Operation: Mindcrime (Queensryche)
Permanent Waves (Rush)
Queen (the only album I could find starting with 'Q')
Rust in Peace (Megadeth)
Superunknown (Soundgarden)
Transcendental Blues (Steve Earle)
Unplugged at the Walls (Marillion)
Van Halen
Women and Children First (Van Halen)
X-Files movie soundtrack (see 'Q')
Youthanasia (Megadeth)
(I don't know any albums beginning with Z well enough)
"Sometimes a view from sinless eyes
Centers our perspective
And pacifies our cries"
(Dream Theater - "Lines in the Sand")

Hey, if iTunes says it starts with 'I', then it starts with 'I'. :P

Believe me, though, that letter was hard to do. If you do it that way, then you can also include things like Led Zeppelin's first few albums. If I had to go with a real letter 'I', though, it would probably be Images and Words.

Do it anyway - you can still make a list of about 20 albums. :)

I forgot one thing: albums that start with a number. I only have three anyway: Rush's 2112, and Van Halen's 1984 and 5150. If I had to pick just one of those albums, it would be 5150.

BTW, there is some very nice diversity in people's lists here. :)
