New music starts us out again, with the long-awaited return of Cryptic Vision. I was tempted to play the whole thing, but still am featuring seven songs – and there’s even a 20-minute suite I left out. It’s a great release. To round out the new music portion, we’ll hear the opening cut of Ocean Architecture’s debut CD.
After that, we’ll hear a nice band from New Orleans, “Tabula Rasa” (not to be confused with the great 70’s Finnish band). First up is a 28-minute journey called “Dark Weather”, mostly atmospheric. But also featured is their more jazzy side with three smoking cuts.
Then we go to Brazil to hear quite a few tunes from a forgotten 70’s band, “O Terco”. Finally, I’ll spin one of my favorite records – Bob Mould’s classic, “Workbook”. Two songs are omitted, for space considerations.
Quite a divergence of styles this week, hope you enjoy it!
