Ok, I know it's a little late, but I am still catching up on my CD listening. So far, here's my list of my favorite releases of 2004, in no particular order:

Dreadnaught: Musica en Flagrante
(I'll be posting a review soon -- I LOVE this cd)
Eccentric Orbit: Attack of the Martians
(Great synths and mellotrons)
Hidria Spacefolk: Balansia
(Sort of a melodic version of Ozric Tenticles)
Brainpool: Junk - A rock opera
(Quirky prog from Sweden; where else?)
Karmakanic: Wheel of Life
The Flower Kings: Adam and Eve

Pamela Progsnob's "producer"
Delicious Agony Progressive Rock Radio

My picks (takes me a while too - it takes a while to get CDs here, and prog CDs need several listens to really appreciate):

Ayreon: The Human Equation - I love the variety of styles and voices
Dead Soul Tribe: The January Tree
Fates Warning: FWX
The Flower Kings: Adam & Eve - hasn't grabbed me quite as much as some of their others, but still pretty good
Frameshift: Unweaving the Rainbow - great vocal performance from James LaBrie
IQ: Dark Matter
Marillion: Marbles - their best since Brave in my opinion
Pain of Salvation: 12:5 - the acoustic format really lets the vocals shine; much better than I thought it would be
Pain of Salvation: Be - this one really took a while to sink in, but I like it more with every listen
The Tangent: The World That We Drive Through - heck, even my non-prog friends like this one
